Photographer Maciek Stankiewicz started taking pictures in Poland. He moved to Chicago several years ago, and began snapping shots on the streets of the city.
Chicagoans will find much that is familiar in his images—an EL train, a mural, a store window. Yet, the images invariably draw the viewer’s eye to something peculiar or unique: a comedic juxtaposition or an intriguing character.
Stankiewicz uses film cameras from his personal collection. His favorites are the Rollei 35SE, Canonet G-III and Yashica Electro GT.
