I am an assistant professor of U.S. history at Northeastern Illinois University. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. My research focuses on capitalism, human bodies, and urban environments in 19th and 20th century America. I co-chair the History of Capitalism Seminar at the Newberry Library. I have published in academic journals including Enterprise and Society, LABOR, and the Journal of Illinois History.
